The Divine Manifestation of Nabadwip

The presiding Deities of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math in Nabadwip represent the highest conception of the Absolute Truth as taught by Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj.

  1. Spiritual Identity: They embody the combined form of the Divine Couple. Gandharva is a celestial name for Srimati Radharani, and Govindasundar refers to Sri Krishna, the "Beautiful Reality".

  2. The Complete Lineage: The names Sri Guru and Gauranga signify that access to the Divine Couple is only possible through the mercy of the Spiritual Master and Lord Chaitanya.

  3. A Unique Worship: Srila Sridhar Maharaj composed the Sri Saraswat-arati specifically for these Deidades to harmonize the worship of the Panca-tattva and Radha-Krishna on a single altar.

  4. Sacred Location: The Math is situated in Koladwip, known internally as Gupta Govardhan (the hidden Govardhan Hill), providing a perfect atmosphere for dedicated service.

  5. Philosophy of Service: The core principle of their worship is pūjala rāga-patha gaurava-bhange—to adore the path of spontaneous love while maintaining a position of deep respect and dignity, following the "servant of the servant" ideal.
